What is the Restorative Justice Statewide Network (RJSN)?
The RJSN is a network of statewide providers who offer multiple restorative justice services which include community conferencing, conflict resolution circles, dialogue circles, community mediation, family conferencing, re-entry conferences, restorative conversations, diversion circles, as well as multiple restorative practice training. Our organization will serve as a convener and incubator for restorative justice practitioners and organizations.
The RJSN was designed to create a community of support for RJ program providers in Maryland. Which includes: training, skill building, education, ongoing technical assistance, peer support and consultation, creating innovative collaborations, presenting work at relevant conferences and events, and resource sharing.

The Mission of the RJSN is to bring together RJ programs across the state to develop quality assurance practices, work through programmatic challenges, support the growth of programs, increase visibility, expand referral opportunities, and provide the necessary training and resources to deliver RJ services with fidelity.

Our vision is that the RJSN serves as the convener and incubator for restorative justice practitioners and organizations to ensure the fidelity of RJ practices in MD and through its members promote RJ as the primary way of viewing justice.
What is Restorative Justice and Practices?
Justice means we recognize that every person has value and deserves to be treated with respect just because they are human. Injustice happens when people are treated like objects. Restorative means we aim to bring people back to a place where they are treated with dignity and respect.

It's a way of thinking and doing things based on indigenous teachings. It's all about being connected by fixing things when someone gets harmed and preventing future harm by building stronger relationships.
